Documentation/Uploading documents
Uploading documents
Documents get into Dijit.app four ways: the web application, email, a connected Dropbox folder and the API. All four end up in the same reading and checking process; what differs is what you have to set up first and how much of it runs on its own.
The four routes compared
| Route | How automatic | Set-up needed | Control over pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web application (desktop) | By hand | None | Yes: pick and split pages before processing |
| Web application (phone) | By hand | None | Yes: it is the same upload screen as on a desktop |
| Automatic, synchronised at intervals | Connect a mailbox, tied to one document type | No | |
| Dropbox folder | Automatic, synchronised at intervals | Connect the account and pick the folder | No |
| API | Automatic, from your own systems | Switched on with the technical team | No |
The routes work side by side in one account and several people can use them at once. Where each document came from is recorded and shown in the list.
Whichever list you upload from decides what the document is. On the automatic routes, the type comes from how the connection was set up.
