Documentation/Getting started
Getting started
This section covers getting an account up and running: signing up, the terms of the free trial, signing in, how the screen is laid out and the words the product uses. What Dijit.app actually does is described on the documentation home page.
How the work flows
Once the account exists, the day-to-day runs in four stages. Each one has its own section in this documentation:
| Stage | What happens | Section |
|---|---|---|
| 1. In | Documents arrive by hand from the web application, on a desktop or from the Quick Access screen on a phone; by email; from a connected Dropbox folder; or through the API. The routes work side by side and several people can be uploading at once. | Uploading documents |
| 2. Processing | Reading, extraction and checking all happen on their own, in under three seconds a page. The document then shows up in its list with a status. | What happens to a document |
| 3. Exceptions | The only documents that need you are the ones whose status points at an inconclusive check: amounts that do not add up, an item that could not be identified, an issuer that was not recognised. The rest need no editing at all. | Checking the document header, and the line items |
| 4. Out | Approved documents are posted to the ERP through a connector, or exported in the format your accounting software takes. | ERP integrations |
What you need
- A browser. The application runs on the web and nothing is installed.
You reach it at
portal.dijit.app. - An email account you can open during sign-up, because the address is confirmed with a code sent to it.
- Your company's tax registration number, which is checked automatically.
- A payment method, only if you take out a plan. The free trial does not ask for one.

Free trial for businesses
How long it lasts, why a credit is a page, what is limited and what happens at the end.
Free trial for accountancy practices
A credit is an invoice, not a page, so you upload the whole document and leave the pages alone.
Signing in and passwords
Signing in and out, resetting a password, and why access is sometimes refused.
How the interface is laid out
The blocks of the menu, the top bar, and why two accounts do not see the same thing.
