Documentation/ Account and plan/ When the trial or the allowance runs out
When the trial ends or the allowance runs out
There are three moments when the application stops processing documents: the trial credits run out, the trial period ends, or the monthly allowance on your plan is spent. Each one behaves differently.

The four cases at a glance
| Case | What happens | How it comes back |
|---|---|---|
| Trial credits gone | New documents stop being processed. | Start the plan from the on-screen notice. |
| The fourteen days are up, with no card | The account stops. Nothing is charged. | By writing to support from the notice at sign-in. |
| The fourteen days are up, plan already started | The charge goes through and the plan carries on. | Nothing to do. |
| Trial cancelled | The account is locked straight away, and for good. | It cannot be undone. |
| Monthly allowance spent | New documents stop being processed. | The period renews, or you move up a plan. |
Trial credits gone
Once the trial's twenty credits are used up, the application shows a notice with how many you have used and stops processing new documents. You can still get into the application and at the documents already processed.
From that notice you can start the plan without waiting for the period to end, with Activate my plan now. It takes you to the payment screen: the charge goes through once the card is saved, and the allowance is there from that moment.
The fourteen days are up
The trial starts with no card, so once the fourteen days are up the account stops and nothing is charged. Signing in brings up a notice saying the trial is over, with a button to write to support and start the subscription. Your documents stay where they are.
If you started the plan during the trial, with the card already saved, the charge goes through at that point and the plan carries on without asking you for anything.
Cancelling the trial
Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.
Cancelling locks the account straight away, and for good. You cannot sign in with it again, and you cannot get back to the documents already processed. The application warns you before it goes through.
Monthly allowance spent
On an account with a live plan, once the monthly allowance is spent the system stops processing new documents and says so as you upload. Documents already in keep their status.
Two ways out:
- Wait for the renewal, whose date is on the plan screen. Unused allowance does not roll over, and the new period starts from the full figure.
- Move up a plan, which takes effect at once, charging the difference for the rest of the current period pro rata.
Group accounts
In a company that sits under a parent, the notice says that starting or upgrading the plan is down to whoever runs the main account. Those buttons are not offered from the subsidiary.
What happens to your documents
Running out of allowance and reaching the end of a trial affect what you can process from then on, not what you have already processed. Those documents stay where they are, with their data and their original file.
The only case that shuts you out is cancelling a trial, which locks the account.
