User workspaces
An administrator can step into another user's workspace without signing out, to see their documents and their settings exactly as that person sees them.

What it is for
A company's documents can be spread across several users. This lets the administrator stand where one of them stands, to check what they are seeing, go through their uploads or sort out a problem, without knowing their password and without asking them to hand over their session.
How to do it
User environment selector › pick the user › Enter button
- Open the User environment selector. It is there for administrators only.
- Pick the person from the company's list of users, or type in their email address.
- Press Enter.
The application reloads and from then on shows that user's data.
The banner that says where you are
While the session is inside someone else's workspace, a banner stays on screen reading You are in the workspace of followed by the user's name, with the way out beside it.
That banner is your reminder of where you are: anything you upload or change in this state is recorded in the selected user's workspace, not in the administrator's.
Coming back out
Leave workspace, on the banner itself, puts the session back on the administrator's account. You do not have to sign in again.
When the session expires
A workspace session does not last indefinitely. When it runs out, the application says so and puts you back on the administrator's account by itself.
Limits
- Administrators only.
- Only users in the same company.
- You cannot enter your own workspace.
What can go wrong
| Message | Why |
|---|---|
| There is no user with that email | The address does not belong to a user of this company. |
| You do not have permission to enter this user's workspace | The person signed in lacks the authorisation. |
| You cannot enter your own workspace | You picked yourself. |
| Your session has expired | The session has run out. Sign in again. |
| The company's users could not be loaded | A temporary failure fetching the list. Try again. |
